A work of precision

Founded in 2017 by Kevin Demarc, Matthieu Woiselle, and Marc Kaeufling, Alphatrade was established to meet the need for timely, independent research on international oil markets. Since then, we have steadily broadened the scope of our research to include solar energy and other key sectors, while maintaining our commitment to timeliness and precision.

Our Leadership team

Raoul Dressel

Raoul is a Senior Oil Risk Analyst, he is focusing on crude storage developments as well as sanctioned flows, with a specific focus on Iran. Prior to joining Alphatrade, Raoul was a data analyst in the data science team at an AI startup, Arkera and worked in commodities operations at Goldman Sachs focusing on analysing energy derivatives. Raoul holds a BSc in Business Studies from Lancaster University, majoring in finance and statistics.

Marc Kaeufling

Marc distills valuable insights from deep fundamental market analysis, making use of Alphatrade leading coverage of crude, refined products and gas flows, crude inventory data and various freight services, allowing for global market coverage in close to real time. He regularly shares his unique market views and forward-looking perspectives in client and industry events, as well as with leading media outlets. Before joining Vortexa, Marc Kaeufling worked at JBC Energy for 18 years, including 8 years as Managing Director and 7 years as Head of Research. He is also a graduate in economics from the University of Vienna.
